Valentine's Day China Cabinet Displays 2016

Thanks for stopping by to visit today.
Last week I shared with you
some Valentine's Day
Today I'm sharing
this year's decorated
China Cabinet at home
and at the booth.
This year at home I used blue and white
in combination with reds and pinks.

Pink plastic heart plates from Target
were light weight enough to display between
the back row of dinner plates
and the stack of saucers and bowls.
I used more of the Cavallini postcards from my
February table inside the cabinet.
I like that they are paper therefore they are lightweight
but they are card stock so they are able to stand up on their own.

Next we visit my black and red china cabinet
at the booth over at
The Red Scooter Antique Mall.
It was perfect for Valentine's day
especially since this display has
gone to dogs, with black lab
tea towels and cocktail napkins.

I couldn't resist the Bee Mine towels
since I love, love, love bees!

I think the modern stripe and heart napkins
mix well with the milk glass
vintage collectibles.
A few chalkboard bud vases and some burlap
gift bags join the display.
Finally, I added the Bless your Heart sign
on the door
and some chalk board
dessert plates and napkins below.
I hope you and yours have
a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Vintage Thanksgiving Clipart

For many years we have hosted my husband's
side of the family for Thanksgiving.
Over the years as the family
has grown my ideas for
decorating and tablescapes
seating & buffets
have gotten creative.
For example hosting it in our
Living Room, which I wrote
about here in 2011.
 I'm already thinking about
this year's tables if we
are able to host.
But even if we don't it's fun
to look at the vintage
Thanksgiving clipart!
So many turkeys and corn ~
 leaves & pumpkins!
I may use a few of these
for decorations.  Did you know
if you cut and paste the image
into a Word Document
you can take it to your
local UPS or FedEx store
and they can enlarge
the image and make it into
a poster size mounted on foam core?
You could embellish it with gold paint pen
overlaying the lettering
or with ribbon around the edges.
I think that would look super cute
displayed in your foyer or
on the buffet table
surrounded with some pumpkins
Indian corn or perhaps a potted mum
from your grocer!
I think the acorn and the flower would make
adorable place cards too.
What are you working on for Thanksgiving?

Beewitching Table

Happy Halloween!
I'm joining the Witches
Halloween Party!
I setup this Beewitching table out on our
back porch this weekend.
It's a combination of milk glass, burlap and lace.
With a few touches of ribbon and pumpkins.
I bought a set of 8 Victorian hat pins on Ebay
and thought they would go great with my witch theme.
I put four in the floral centerpiece -
see the heart shaped pin between the roses -and
four in the napkin rings!

I used black lace gloves to hold my black
and white flatware
 embellished with black
and white checked ribbon with a
Halloween sticker sentiment.
Hobnail milkglass was used for the goblets.
When I was checking the dish pantry I discovered
these adorable milk glass shooty,
which I thought would be great as placecard holders.
Burlap plate chargers, table runner and witches
hats add a modern touch to the milk glass.
And for my orange accent I used
fire king salad plates
and saucers.

 Please read my post on
to see how I used ribbon, hat pins and stickers
to create these beewitching treats!
I had a lot of fun putting all these
touches together and hope you
enjoyed our Halloween on the Porch!

Vintage Fourth Clip Art

I thought I would re-post an entry from 2011 in case you would enjoy using these pictures
for your upcoming July 4th weekend!
It is possible to have an inexpensive yet festive party for Fourth of July. This week I'll show you how to plan a perfect patriotic picnic for next weekend's holiday. Today I'm sharing a few vintage clipart pictures I'm using later this week for a patriotic picnic.

I've saved these in a Word file and will be printing them on a sheet of white heavy card stock paper and a sheet of Avery labels.

I can't wait to show you all my creations for a patriotic picnic! Today I'm joining Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.
