Red, White & Blue Toile China Cabinet

Every few months of so I like to change things up in the China Cabinet. Previously I had backed it with red & white toile wallpaper leftovers from the downstairs bathroom. You can see that post here. For summertime I displayed some red, white and blue dishes, including these adorable frog placecard holders.

And their friends the larger froggy salt and pepper shakers! I love the pop of this red rooster platter in the back of the cabinet.

Inside this red and white polka dot casserole dish I placed blue and white carpet balls of assorted patterns.

And finally several sets of blue and white casserole dishes and a blue vase with red toile accent on the front.

On the fold down portion of the cabinet sits blue and white tiles, which can be used for coasters and a friendly patriotic bear. Check around your house and I'll bet you already have the makings of your own red, white and blue display. Thanks for coming by to visit me today. Rooster Red Toile

As part of my continuing transformation
at the store, I re-did the back of the china cabinet in red toile paper.
As a nice accent to the paper, I selected roosters
as the theme for the display.

This cheery sunflower platter will brighten your day!
Mixing in yellow as the pop of color was perfect.

A little bee's and strawberry napkins.

I even tucked in accents
in the side shelves.

Just Hanging Around the House

Here are a few things we have handing around the outside of our house.
The American flag on the front porch.
A cardinal wind chime off the back porch upstairs.

A few hanging baskets of flowers . . .

and a humming bird feeder to attract the humming birds.

And finally in the front tree two bird feeders.
What's hanging outside of your house these days?

My Little Red Wagon

Welcome to Tuesday! I have yet again changed out my entry way table. What can I say, I like to see something different
when I come home from work.
I've used a wreath I recently received along
with a blue and white vase.

Isn't this little red wagon so cute?

This is my old faithful. If I'd known I would have used
this so much over the years I would have bought five
more 10 years ago (Stein Mart I think).

Here's a side angle. I like the red white and blue ribbon.

And the red, white and blue flowers.

They say summer without screaming 4th of July.

A bird's eye view.

Simple & Summery.

Oh and Miss Madison wants me to remind you
tomorrow is Part II of the Monticello tour.
We hope you will stop back by to visit!

Annapolis Architecture

Annapolis was filled with unique homes boasting colorful facades.

Homes of many different colors lined the streets of historic Annapolis.

Sprinkled in between were boutiques, book stores and restaurants.

All of the homes were built in the same time period,

but retained their unique personality thru color and decor.

Some had porches, others window boxes or planters.

All home exteriors were well maintained which provided a quaint and charming atmosphere.

I'm sure the many colors of houses provide a cheerful view

during the long blustery winter months of Maryland.

Many had nautical or sea theme door knockers such as anchors, turtles or this crab.Isn't he adorable?

Strawberry Table Top

With Derby over it was time to change up my
entry hall table with a new tablescape.
I decided to use this old pitcher and basin as the focal point.
I purchased this at an estate auction in our old neighborhood.
The owner was a lovely lady 94 years young!

Along with this "H" tile from the Vatican gift store, given to me as a Christmas gift one year.

I put the basin on a plant stand to give it some height and then added a plate underneath to give it some layering depth.

Inside the basin I added clear stones to fill it
and then layered on top some faux strawberries.

Here's a bird's eye view. I like the red with the red in the marbletop.
Next I added three miniature vases from Pier One to the left side.

I thought this red tied to the red of the marble top and the berries.

The first strawberries are in at our local farmers market - yum!

Here's a shot with different lighting. Thanks for stopping by today :)
