Met Monday She Left . . She's Here!

This week I've put an Organized Life on hold, but it will be back next Monday. Please join me in thanking Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting Metamorphis Monday. Be sure to stop by there and see all the great posts. http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

I'm late to post my Met Monday today because we've had a very busy weekend. My daughter left for her senior semester abroad on Saturday. I'm glad she has the great opportunity, but Christmas can't come fast enough so she will be back home! The same day my daughter left, my fur baby Madison arrived! We drove down to Paducah and picked her up Saturday. Needless to say we've not had a lot of sleep, but I think that has helped me not worry about my daughter as much. I put a picture of Madison on the right side of my page.

Today's post is a picture of our daughters room. It looks very empty now that we've moved all of her stuff into storage or she has taken it with her. I'm calling on all empty nesters out there to help me with suggestions on how to transform this room into a guest room. These empty shelves need help! Any ideas?

  1. Sigh ... it's so hard when they leave for college! Not sure if I'd do anything to it just yet. I would probably wait until after her Christmas visit.

BTW, I love your fall hutch in the header picture!

  2. Best wishes to your daughter abroad and to your family who'll miss her so much.

Our 3 have fled the nest. Here is what we did. We had our designer friend come over and help us. He isn't the least bit sentimental about our stuff but he knows we are and he knows out children. He convinced us it was time to move forward on their rooms. He has dealt with these situations often in his career. So he knew how to help us keep the sentiment while moving us along.

Anyway he got us unstuck and their room look great.

  3. Madison's arrival came at the perfect time -- for sure you're missing your daughter, but now you have a cute little fur face to welcome into your home and love :-)

Both redecorating suggestions above are good ones. Why not wait till after Christmas and then hire a decorator to help :-)
