Nell Hill's Tablesetting Tips

For those of you that don't know Ms. Mary Carol of Nell Hills has an awesome blog at http://www.nellhillsblog.com
I did not have a tablescape prepared for today, but I got an email from her site letting me know there was a new posting today. I was so pleased to find it was about tablesetting.

She and her staff offer great tips on how to set a table and centerpiece.

Yes Ms. Carol you are divine!!

Another divine hostess and tablesetter (is that a word?) is Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

Strawberry Table Top

With Derby over it was time to change up my
entry hall table with a new tablescape.
I decided to use this old pitcher and basin as the focal point.
I purchased this at an estate auction in our old neighborhood.
The owner was a lovely lady 94 years young!

Along with this "H" tile from the Vatican gift store, given to me as a Christmas gift one year.

I put the basin on a plant stand to give it some height and then added a plate underneath to give it some layering depth.

Inside the basin I added clear stones to fill it
and then layered on top some faux strawberries.

Here's a bird's eye view. I like the red with the red in the marbletop.
Next I added three miniature vases from Pier One to the left side.

I thought this red tied to the red of the marble top and the berries.

The first strawberries are in at our local farmers market - yum!

Here's a shot with different lighting. Thanks for stopping by today :)

Pretty in Pink

I've been so busy over at the booth getting summer things setup.
Do you love toile and are looking for a way to bring it into summer?
Add in some shocking hot pink and it will perk it up.

I mixed a lot of pattern, but with the pink accent it looks tied together.

Toile is such a great neutral.
I can layer checks, strips and florals right over the top of it.

I even added some animal print.

For this display I wanted to offer a lot of disposable and plastic tableware
because we dine outside so much in the warm weather.

Thanks for stopping by today - hope you have a great week!

Cute as a Bug

If summertime is all about bugs then it might as well be about cute bugs right?I recently setup this table at the booth full of bugs.
I love this ladybug egg plate - great for your next bbq.
These little bean bag bugs would make great tie ons for packages.

Isn't he cute? Yep cute as a bug!

I love bees and these bee tea light candle holders were beeutiful!

Butterfly bubble necklaces are perfect for little girls outdoor playtime.

During your next outdoor gathering,
cover your favorite dish with this bee screen.
Hope you enjoyed your visit!

Napkin Rings

When looking through some photos on my computer, I noticed I've gotten quite the collection going of white napkin rings.
They all seem to be animals too - which is odd- I've gotten them in two's and four's here and there.

And they are randomly placed around my booth space.

I think I like the poodle and boxer puppies the best!

I'm joining Three or More Tuesday and White Wednesday.

Blue & White China Cabinet Re-Do

Happy Monday!

This week I had a chance to change things around at the booth and make some summer additions.

I moved all my blue and white over to the china cabinet.

At first it was a hodge podge of garden, seashore and other items.

I started to organize most of the seashell theme items on one shelf.

Then mixed in some on each of the other shelves.

And I was surprised how well it all went together.

I love the seersucker with the shells.

Today I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday & Smiling Sally for my first Blue Monday.

Fern Folly

This weekend is the weekend after Derby, which means it's Mother's Day weekend. I always get my ferns on Mothers Day weekend.
Before we moved to our current house, we lived in a Victorian style farmhouse and I hung ferns across the front porch. When we moved here I placed ferns on the back porch and they love it there.

This fountain was a Mother's Day gift two years ago. I love hearing the water in the evening.

It is made from that faux stone material, which makes it light enough to mount on the wall. I hate the cord though.

I place a fern next to the fountain and it seems to like the moisture.

Then I line up three other ferns along the banister in plant stands.

This one thinks she's Minnie Pearl with her tag still on!
