Cardinal Christmas

Here is a wonderful cardinal kitchen towel on top of hand painted poinsettia place mats. Next to the towel is a beautiful footstool and behind it a parade of cardinal figures on pine cones.
I adore this set of Cardinal serving pieces, which is next to another kitchen towel with a pineapple with red ribbon.

A Snowy Christmas Inspiration

Today we join Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch for tablescape Thursday. I have put together a table scape of red and white with a touch of green for one of the round tables at the booth.
I enjoyed layering and layering in pieces that reflected the red and white theme.

Harrods for the Holidays
Miss B travelled to London a few weeks ago and upon my insistence went to visit Harrods Department Store, camera in tow to get some pictures to share with you guys!

For those of you not familiar with the store I found this information from Wikipedia:
Harrods was established in 1834 in London’s East End, when founder Charles Henry Harrod set up a wholesale grocery in Stepney,[2] with a special interest in tea. In 1849, to escape the filth of the inner city and to capitalise on trade to the Great Exhibition of 1851 in nearby Hyde Park, Harrod took over a small shop in the district of Knightsbridge, on the site of the current store. Beginning in a single room employing two assistants and a messenger boy, Harrod’s son Charles Digby Harrod built the business into a thriving retail operation selling medicines, perfumes, stationery, fruit, and vegetables. Harrods rapidly expanded, acquired the adjoining buildings, and employed one hundred people by 1880.
However, the store’s booming fortunes were reversed in early December 1883, when it burnt to the ground.[2] Remarkably, in view of this calamity, Charles Harrod fulfilled all of his commitments to his customers to make Christmas deliveries that year — and made a record profit in the process. In short order, a new building was raised on the same site, and soon Harrods extended credit for the first time to its best customers, among them Oscar Wilde, legendary actresses Lillie Langtry and Ellen Terry, Noël Coward, Sigmund Freud, A. A. Milne, and many members of the British Royal Family.
On Wednesday, 16 November 1898, Harrods debuted England's first "moving staircase" (escalator) in their Brompton road stores; the device was actually a woven leather conveyor belt-like unit with a mahogany and "silver plate-glass" balustrade.[3] Nervous customers were offered brandy at the top to revive them after their 'ordeal'.[4]

Here are some black and white ceramics, which look like Mackenzie Childs to me.

Miss B knows I love blue and white!

She shot this photo because of the Hermes price listing on the left. It would hard for me to purchase bowls that cost 600 pounds each, but they are beautiful.

These are ornaments for sale under the tree pictured above.

These are tablecloths in the linen department.

Paris to Bass Pro
This past weekend, while Miss B was in Paris France, Mr. and Master B & I went to the Bass Pro shop to pick out Master B's present. This mega store is located in Southern Indiana about 50 minutes from our house. The guys had been there before, but this was my first trip. See below for some shots of the wowza displays they have at this HUGE store.
If you have a Bass Pro shop in your area, I would definitely recommend a visit, especially if you have small children and/or grandchildren. They even have a Starbucks inside!
This was a giant waterfall area in front of the elevators, yes there are elevators in this store because there are three floors. Below the waterfall was a giant aquarium type tank with fish.
Overhead the golf pro shop flies a red airplane, slightly smaller than full size.
These guys were sitting next to me in the atrium area where there were tables and chairs (you can kind of see a chair to the right of the picture)

This was outside the storefront area, where grapevine reindeer and sleigh were displayed.
On the other side of the entrance was this old pickup truck, which I love. We use to have an old beater pickup truck we used for home improvement projects around our previous house, which was a 1800's farmhouse. It makes want that old truck back (well not really) but it was very nostalgic.

Impressive as it was, I would have given anything to be shopping with Miss B in Paris instead.

Met Monday Christmas Cabinet

For today's Met Monday, hosted by Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch, I decided to post the china cabinet transformation from fall seen here to a snowman winter wonderland!
It looks like a snowman collectors dream as I layered up one great piece after another into the cabinet.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
For today's Met Monday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, I am showing the first of several updates as it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at my booth space. I have spent the past several weeks setting up some adorable (if I do say so myself) things! Today we're looking at the gingerbread table all decked out and ready for those cookie swap parties.
Aren't the ornaments above so cute! I think they would be great on a tree as seen here, but also as a gift bag embellishment, a napkin ring or hostess gift!
I love the teapot and the hinged gingerbread house boxes.

Here are some gingerbread boys and girls lined up to go home with you to tuck in some delicious cookies!
