Gone Fishing!

Welcome out on the porch for a fun
table I setup for summer~
Fishing is a hobby that provides hours of relaxation for some,
but for me tablescapes and entertaining provide my relaxation.
Today I set a table with a combination of vintage and new items.
Yellow, green and aqua mix surprisingly well with the fish
in the Mary Lake Thompson towels.
Some cheery sunflowers center the table
I thought these butter pat fish dishes were a whimsical touch
I also added this trout accent as well.
Fishing always reminds me of summer vacation
at Lake Barkley, where we will be heading in a few weeks
and I cannot wait!
Saturday is the first day of summer and I hope
you and yours are settling in for some
relaxation and entertaining!
I'm Joining:
Cuisine Kathleen for the June Summer Whimsy Challenge

  1. Fishing is a great summer theme- and the sunflowers are too! I like the towels, and the fish dishes. Vacationing at Lake Barkley sounds so perfect.

  2. Great way to celebrate the love of fishing. The precious towels with the fishing items is just perfect with the fish plates. Your colors of the china is lovely with the place mat.
    Have a great week!

  3. Hi there! I'm visiting your blog for the 1st time via Cuisine Kathleen's summer whimsy challenge!

First, I have to tell you how much I love your porch floor! I am going to pin that so my Mom can see it. She will just flip! That is so cool! I have never seen that checkerboard design done on a porch. It's a wonderful idea and really lets people know as soon as they approach that you are working with a very creative brain!

Those fish towel/napkins are SO cool!!! I just love them! I have gathered a lot of stuff together for a fishing tablescape, but the weather is keeping me indoors. I think those towels/napkins just make the table really work the fishing aspect without going overboard. (Was that a pun of some sort? :-) )

Those are some really gorgeous sunflowers you've got there! The heads are beautifully shaped.

Have fun at the lake, and enjoy these lazy, hazy days of summer!

  4. What a fun, themed table! The towels as napkins are just perfect and sunflowers in a jar are so cheery. Your trout plates add the right touch. I love your vintage table with the pretty covered seats. I'm with Alycia in loving your checkerboard floor! Enjoy your vacation and I hope the fishing is great.

  5. This table setting is perfect for summer! We love to fish as well and my family just might like this tablescape, too! Enjoy your trip to the Lake!

  6. You have set a beautiful summer table!! It reminds me of the many summer fishing vacations we have taken. The sun flowers are gorgeous!!

  7. Love your fishing trip!

  8. This is diffidently says summer. Luv the mixture of aqua and yellow. Great job!

  9. What a fun table! It really made me smile and brought back memories of the days I would go fishing with my dad. Loved the linens and your accent fish pieces. Thanks for sharing.....Rosie @The Magic Hutch

  10. Love this table! Great colors and the fish plates are wonderful.

  11. Nothing fishy about this! What a great table to welcome summer, and gone fishin' days!
Thanks so much for taking the Summer Whimsy Challenge!
