Easy and Elegant Gingerbread House Girls Night In

Thanks for joining me today for
an easy and elegant gingerbread house girls night in
using paper products.

With a burlap tablecloth as the base
I used plaid plate chargers
and matching plaid mini pedestal stands.
 I added matching plaid mugs
to enjoy your favorite
seasonal eggnog, coco or coffee!

Then I mixed in red polka dot ribbon
wreath napkins and dinner plates
that are both beautiful and practical because they are paper.

This makes clean up both easy and quick
so you can move on to gingerbread house decorating
with your girlfriends.

Gingerbread House Girls Night In With Cozy Cable Knits

Today we are hosting a Gingerbread House Girls Night In Idea for your holiday get together!
Grab your girl friends, sisters and other special women in your life
and invite them over for some gingerbread house creating
or just catching up before the rush of the holidays!

The table is set with cozy cable knit dinner plates, red fringe linen napkins and
mini pedestal plaid plates topped with matching plaid mugs for your cup of cocoa.
I adore the green & white pom pom napkin rings which match the
burlap plate chargers.  Also the gingerbread table
accents make perfect place cards.
For additional festivity I placed a linen
cable knit holiday tea towel under each place setting.
Our gingerbread house is not real,
but will last the season for
many years of enjoyment.
Combining plaids, gingerbread, cozy cable knits
and festive colors is a great way to kick of the holidays
with girlfriends!

MeeMaw Animal Party

Thanks for stopping by!
Today we're celebrating a grandson's
birthday with an animal party.
I have linked the sources for the
table elements in the store name(s).
Sometimes it's hard to plan for a boy vs girl birthday
especially elementary school age
so I went with an animal theme.
I knew a floral centerpiece would not do so
I shopped the house and borrowed my
topiaries from the front hall as the centerpiece
pretending they were giant evergreens in a
jungle for animals!
I had bought these on QVC.
Playing off the animal theme I used these
silver salt and pepper shakers.
Mine are from Godinger years ago
but you can find them still on Ebay.
Each place setting features a burlap charger,
black plate, animal party napkins
and a festive napkin ring from Hobby Lobby.
To play up the animal theme I purchased
plastic zoo animals from Amazon and sprinkled them
around the table.
To add to the festive table I used
multi colored plastic tumblers
as glasses.  These were used all summer
and purchased at Target.
This was a super fun table to setup
as boy will be boys we ended up
playing leopard battles zebra etc
after dinner!

Halloween Porch at the Little Bee House

Welcome to Halloween on
the porch of our Little Bee House!

I layered the lanterns I already
have and enjoy so much as the
nights are earlier now in fall
with a set of three pumpkins from Target.
In our sitting area I replaced the
fall pillows with linen pillow covers
I found on Amazon that match the
polka dot theme of the other pumpkins
On the black wicker table I filled
a gray urn from QVC with polk dot,
striped and check pumpkins from Pier One.
In addition to two mini Halloween
light up bottle brush trees also from Pier One.
The witch has flown straight into the wall
of the porch by the door on this
black and orange wreath from Pier One
with more pumpkin polka dot and stripes!
 Finally these happy pumpkin topiaries
in my urns flank the entry way
to create a mood of Joy
for all the trick and treaters!
They are from Frontgate.
Such a happy little porch~we have really enjoyed it!
Wishing you and yours a Happy Halloween!

Ghoulish Girls Night In

Welcome to a Ghoulish Girls Night In Dinner!
This would also be a great idea for
your turn to host Bunco, Bridge or Bible Study.
I went rather non traditional in color scheme
for this tablescape using pinks, silver, black and white.
I also mixed new and vintage together
as I often like to do to
create a ghoulish table.
At each place setting I used the Totally Tikka
salad plates from my Grandmothers set of china
and a sherbet/champagne goblet
from a vintage set I picked up at an antique store
a few years ago.
For linens I went with my Grandma's pink damask
napkins.  I just love these napkins, well worn
with love and buttery softness!
Here's a better picture of the glassware set
with silver edging which matches the
silver and white stripe paper table runner.
I had to have some bees on the table
I purchased from Horchow several years ago.
Each place setting has a white and silver
ceramic pumpkin from Target.
I tried to find a link for them but
they don't seem to be available anymore.
Initially I had the skull paper placemats
up under the dinner plates, but
you really could not get the full
ghoulish affect so I pulled
them out and placed them on an
angle at all four corners of the table.

One additional paper skeleton for more festivity
next to the flowers.
 And speaking of the flowers
I loved the combination of the sweet pink
roses, which matched the pink roses of the
salad plates along with the
darker trumpet flowers
which are almost blood red.
I hope you have enjoyed this
Ghoulish table!  I certainly have
enjoyed you stopping by to visit.
Hope you have a great day!

Meemaw's Foxy Date Night

Thanks for stopping by!
We've been having a date night
on Wednesdays since school started
with out three grandsons and it's
been tons of fun.
This week I setup a table with
a fox theme for fall.
These two foxes were scheduled to appear
on our front porch, but before they scamper
out there I decided they could be the centerpiece for the table.
I saw these on QVC in early August and
knew they'd be such a cute addition to the
early fall porch decor!
They are still available online here:

To continue the woodsy fall theme
I added an apple and pine cone
garland down the center of the table.
I always keep the place settings simple
for family nights.
I mixed my Fiesta turquoise dinner plates with
a burlap plate charger, orange salad plate (paper)
and fall leaf dinner napkins (paper).
Finally I added my bee glasses, which are smaller
and easier for the boys to handle &
the wood handled flatware, which I thought
matched nicely to the theme.

See more of my visit to the Fiesta Outlet
store in West Virginia here
My husband and I both work fulltime so our "strategy"
for an easy dinner on a work night is to cook the night before
heat up the night the boys visit.
With a 10, 9 and 1 year old this works out great~
everyone can eat and there a just a few dishes
so we can all enjoy the rest of the night together!

Later this week I will post our foxy friends on the front porch
along with my other early fall decor!
