Country Living Fair ATL 2015

For years I have seen the Country Living
Fair shows in their magazine
and on Instagram, blog posts etc.
This year my husband and I made the pilgrimage
to Atlanta's fair at Stone Mountain GA.
I had checked the weather the week prior
and it was predicted to be sunny and chilly,
which is perfect for me,
however we arrived to 81 degrees and humid.
As you can tell from my photos, most of the booths
are in shady areas along a path that takes you from
section to section.
Definitely a lot of walking, think of Six Flags
for shoppers.
The crowds were heavy and often to many
people where in the booths to really
go in and shop but I was happy to be there none the less.

This blue and white display caught my eye at
Cash & Cari's of HGTV booth.
Along with lots of glassware, silver and other goodies.
I am a dishaholic so I was mostly looking
at booths with dishes, but there was
also plenty of art, clothing and food.
 Shopping warriors and bargain hunters
were delighted.  I saw most visitors
leaving with a few/ton of purchases.
Iron stone, transfer ware and more blue and white!

The heat ended up getting to me even with
my husband walking around behind me with
a folding chair for me to sit down every 200 feet.
In addition to the shopping they have a great
line up of guest speakers for all 3 days.
The day we visited Ree Drummond,
was there to speak and sign her new book.
I also got to see the beginning of Frances Schultz
lecture, author of The Bee Cottage.
I like to comment about
accessibility & restrooms when I write
about these big event visits since I've an autoimmune disease and
those things are always important to me.
See my trip to Lucketts.
This is definitely a big show and if you have mobility issues,
unless you have or rent a scooter it will be a challenge.
They did have scooters for rent by the hour/day at the main
gate admission area (see picture above for an example of a rental).
I only went to the main stage area and surrounding booths
and found that it was enough variety and shopping to satisfy me.
The restroom situation is port a potties.
There is one "trailer" restroom outside the main gate.
The Stone Mountain Park itself is vast and there are many
hotels, restaurants, viewing areas that also have restrooms.
After our fair visit we enjoyed driving around the park
viewing the lake, mountain and beautiful fall foliage.
